Ariel and Friends Birthday Party

I say, and friends, because Baby does not discriminate against any Disney princesses.  She loves them all.  There's a slight slant in the direction of Ariel right now, but that will change, as it always does.

I did lean toward the Under The Sea theme for the most part, but I also threw in some other princess stuff.
Lucky for me, I never throw anything away, so I was able to dig out decorations from one of The Girl's parties.
I'll just start throwin' out pictures.

As always, the dining room ceiling got the balloon treatment.

The other hang downs were from parties of yesteryear.

The banner was a DIY kit in the clearance section of Michael's.
It ended up being like three bucks.

For whatever reason, I had saved a, Pin The Crown On Rapunzel poster thing, and I couldn't get the sticker crowns off, so I just cut Ariel out and taped her to the mirror.

Another leftover from years ago was this plastic table cloth remnant that already had the border cut off.
I taped it to the fireplace under the Valentine's Day garland.

One of these days I'll find an actual home for my new picture from my sister, that you keep getting glimpses of.
She's just leaning up there for now, obviously.
I love her SO much and want to find the perfect spot.
She moves around a lot, but ends up back up on the fireplace to keep her safe from little people.

The octopus is just a balloon, crepe paper, and card stock.

I always do a kid-friendly drink to go along with the theme, and this time they got Sea Water.
Aka, a jug of blue Hawaiian Punch.

I don't typically do anything fancy for the adults, but I couldn't help myself.
I rounded up the goods for Shark Bites.

You can find the recipe online, but it's just pineapple juice, curacao, coconut rum, lime, and a few drops of grenadine for the "blood."

I don't know if my ability to follow a recipe is lacking, or what, but the one I made for myself was green.  All the ones The Dad made turned out blue.  Either way, they were deeeelicious.
Here's mine:

And The Dad's:

He threw on a gummy shark for garnish, before the kids devoured them all.

Food.
I did several homemade snacks, as well as some store bought things.

Fishy crackers.

Candy pearls.

Gummy fish and sharks.

Spinach dip in a bread bowl.

Veggie tray, complete with a bell pepper octopus.

Hummus.

The Girl decorated the table with all of Baby's toy princesses.

I almost forgot the cheese ball!

The centerpiece was just grocery store Cyclamen planted in my copper pots.

For the main course, I made coleslaw, meatballs in the crock pot, and macaroni and cheese, (with shells of course), one dish with peas, one without.

And for dessert, I did the Oyster Cookies with the infamous frosting story, and the Ariel Barbie Cake.

And there ya have it.
An Ariel/Under The Sea/Princess party fit for a four year old.

  2. So many cute details! I love the balloon octopus. So simple and creative! I pinned the veggie octopus too although I am not sure I will have an occasion to use it. Maybe for a grandchild one day. What did you use to make the eyes? The cookies, the cake, the macaroni- it all looks super delicious. Happy birthday to your little girl!

  8. I wanted to send you the little bit of remark to be able to thank you again considering the nice guidelines you have documented on this website. It is so unbelievably generous with people like you to deliver freely just what some people would've marketed as an e book to earn some dough for themselves, even more so given that you could possibly have tried it in the event you wanted. These advice also acted to provide a good way to be sure that other people have a similar zeal just like my personal own to figure out good deal more with regard to this problem. I am sure there are numerous more fun instances ahead for people who take a look at your website. birthday party photo booth
