I think they look pretty in other people's yards, though.

The clematis that I whacked is an early bloomer, so it was done. I hadn't pruned it in so long that it was getting out of control. I'm hopin' his haircut will make for better blooms next year.

I do bring my candle holders in when it rains hard. Our goal is to someday cover the pergola, so I can leave stuff like that out, but for now, if it starts pouring, I run out and grab them.

Happy planting!Mindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07247379600555185331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2733342915429018771.post-50974756208468471672014-06-13T06:51:13.921-07:002014-06-13T06:51:13.921-07:00Thanks, Karie, we had an amazing time. You know this is the perfect time for cutting back that clemmy. It's an early spring bloomer so now it will have enough time to grow and set buds for next spring. You done good. I love your Gebera steal and your kitty is the sweetest thing. Fun post. I'd hate to prune my clematis too, but it has to be done. Get well before your trip.Stacyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14294624848003071390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2733342915429018771.post-64309080991818420162014-06-02T15:56:55.668-07:002014-06-02T15:56:55.668-07:00Got to bug you again with questions :) First, you...Got to bug you again with questions :) First, you don't like any flowers that are orange? Why? Don't like the color orange? Second, why did you have to cut the clematis down? It was so huge!! Couldn't you wait until after it bloomed, or did it already bloom? My one clematis just opened today :) Third, this just might be the dumbest question ever, but I to ask. Your mason jar candle holders......do you take them down every time it rains? Asking because we recently just did some more building on our existing deck and saw those same candle holders on Pinterest and loved them! But then was concerned they would just fill up with rain water if I left them out. Speaking of rain, we haven't had any rain in 2 weeks. It is a JOB to keep all my stuff watered everyday and then work on my new flower gardens. So happy though that I have a brand new 15 ft. raised flower bed. Its been so much fun getting new plants and designing a new bed! Hope you get better fast!!! I just have one partial flat left to plant, so for me, for this time of year, I'm actually in pretty good shape! I hope you and your family feel better--as you know, get to the doc if you think it's strep--so not fun.
