2014 Bedroom Christmas Tour

I've got some more Christmas decoration photos for ya today.  I'll start in our bedroom.

I didn't do a whole heck of a lot, but it's enough to make it feel decorated.
I hung the lighted garland on our headboard again this year, with the addition of some snowflake ornaments.
I also hung some metal snowflakes from the chandelier.
Each of our nightstands got a white poinsettia, a swag over the mirror, and of course, The Dad's Oregon Duck's tree always find a home in here.

The bed looked well made when I started, but I have this to contend with.

She finds it nearly impossible NOT to roll around on a freshly made bed.
And, as you can see, Michael found his way into our room in the night.

I put a couple Christmas critters, that have been around since I was a kid, on my dresser, as well.

And since you're here, I'll throw in a couple master bathroom photos.

Moving into the Girls' shared room, they have their little tree again, and the garland on the armoire.
I also put a set of the Christmas curtains, that have always gone in the living room, on their window.

The Kid got a tabletop tree on his desk, and he decorated Daisy's home a little bit.

He wanted to give her a Christmas tree, so I have him a branch that he propped up in there.
Then he strung the garland on it.
So sweet.

When I was out and about, I found a box of vintage mini glass ornaments and couldn't resist.

They're so dang cute I can hardly stand it.

I hung a few on the container of  branches that sits on the old scale in my kitchen, too.
Gah, I love them.
Okay, that's it for this round of photos.
Only one more decoration post to make you suffer through.
The bathroom and ever-elusive hallway will be next.
Enjoy your Sunday!
We'll be celebrating Christmas with out of town family at my mom's today.
Food, food, and more food.  :)

Life Snippets #6

I was going to post pictures of The Kid's reaction to his new room in the reveal post, but I had so dang many, I figured I'd save them for one of these posts.  It gives me a good excuse to throw in some other random life happenings.

Baby was home with us during all the hubbub of room switching, so of course she was a huuuuge help.

I was so mad to find his initial reaction pictures were blurry, but I'll share them anyway.
His first reaction was no reaction.
I think he was in shock.

He just kept staring at me, not saying anything.
But once he got over the shock of it all, he was super stoked and had to check everything out.
We all spent the next two hours just hanging out in there.

The Girl wanted to see the world side of the map, so The Dad flipped it for her.

Then he tried to explain how/why a round globe could be viewed flat.

Then I think he gave himself a geography lesson.

Everyone still loves hangin' out in there.
Including The Cat.

Okay, enough bedroom pics.
Let's look at some food.

Pork Souvlaki and veggies, ready for the grill.

Molten Lava Cakes, ready for the oven.
They're so dang good.

A sleepy baby.

A sleeping baby.

Signs of life in the yard.

I finished the brooch bouquet (full post to come) and took some pictures of it with The Girl's assistance.
Is it weird that I draped a tablecloth over her to get a white background?
She didn't even bat an eye.
Clearly they're used to my weird photo requests.

I made these amazingly delicious treats earlier this week for a friend's birthday and a garden meeting at school.
There was leftover melted chocolate that I didn't have the heart to dump, so I dunked fruit in it.
The starfruit were BOMB like that.
Who knew.

Baby, helping with dinner and watching for Daddy.

And last, I made this Horseradish Pot Roast again last night.
I've made it in the crockpot more times than I can count, but this time I did it in the oven.
Um, delicious.

I did 2 hours at 300 with just the meat, wine, horseradish and thyme.
Then I bumped the temp to 350, added the veggies and garlic, and cooked it for two more hours.
Did I mention delicious?
I'm gonna be tearin' this up tonight with the leftovers.

Happy almost Friday!
