I sketched a few out first, just so I'd have something to look at while cutting.
Originally, I was going to put cardboard between the back and front felt pieces for support, but it turned out that they didn't need it.
I just glued two circles together, with twine in between for hanging.
They didn't end up being as detailed as I had originally planned.
Cutting tiny pieces of felt ain't all that easy.
I used fabric paint in the little bottles to add the snowflakes.
Our kids picked out the ones they wanted and the other four went to cousins.
Here's this year's tree ornaments:
The Girl picked this one.
My turtle lovin' boy picked this one.
Baby wanted the deer.
Hey, guess what?
Today's my birthday.
Woot woot.
38 years young.
Hahaha.
I told the powers that be that my wish list for the evening is Champagne, a Stanich burger, fries and a pitcher of PBR, and red wine.
In that order.
I found cookies and a birthday card on my porch this morning from one of the Mom Squad girls and her hubs, with a gift card to Stanich's, saying, "enjoy a burger on us."
If I wasn't so mean, I totally would have cried.
So damn sweet.
The kids (all five including my niece and nephew) are gonna hang with Grammy and Grandpa while The Dad and I, and my sister and BIL , check those three things off my list.
Can't wait!
Please see my sidebar for the parties I link up to.
Cute Christmas tree ornament.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Mindy--have fun tonight! What cute ornaments--each of the animals has a great expression on their face--not easy to do with scissors and pieces of felt.
