The Hebe Is Blooming!

I love hebes.  Unfortunately, I tend to lose even the ones that are supposed to be hardy here.  I had one for years and once I lost that one, not one has overwintered since.  Until now!  I planted this one last year and it's blooming its little heart out right now.

The evening primrose is also blooming in the backyard now.
I swear it glows.
I wish I could get closeups of the color, but my camera skills are lacking and it just ends up washed out.

A few of the fuchsias I bought this year are starting to bloom.
The ones that wintered over are huuuuge, but only one of those is blooming.

I guess that's it for now.
The new recipe meat is goin' on the grill, the salad and rice are made, and the table is set.
I've got pictures in case it's as good as it sounds.
Have a good night.

  1. Soooo beautiful! I love the yellow primrose. After we move I hope to finally plant some flowers - it always seems to be the last thing I get around to.

  2. Those look beautiful! I'm afraid my garden may be toast this weekend -- literally. It's supposed to be 103 degrees, high humidity, and we have a "Code Purple" for air quality (which I've never even heard of, but it's worse than Code Orange and Code Red -- so really really bad). Oh well, we had a pretty mild winter and a nice spring.

  3. I am not familiar with hebe, but it's very pretty and such a nice color! All of your flowers and plants are so pretty. You must have the perfect weather for gardening!

  4. This is a new plant for me as well, but I know it wouldn't overwinter here if you're having trouble with it there. Must be an annual for us. Looks so pretty though.

  5. Gorgeous hebes, Mindy, as well as those fuschias--I swoon over fuschias! All of my hebes that I've planted over the last few years have died. Was it from colder weather, or so much rain (probably the rain overwhelming the feeder roots)--who knows? And great minds, and weather reports, think alike--we grilled last night, too, and ate out under the pergola--my favorite thing to do in the summertime (when it's warm enough!) Take care--have a great week!

  7. I wish my flowers would grow that nicely. Colorado is soooo dry and sooo hot. My flowers are dying! Yours are a breath of fresh air to my eyes.
