Pomegranate-Champagne Punch + Girl's Night

The Mom Squad.  There's four of us.  We're the ones hangin' on the playground after school.  Chatting while the kids play.  None of us have "real" jobs, so it's our access to adult conversation.

It was my turn to host a Friday night get-together.  We ate, drank, and watched White Christmas, one of my all-time favorite movies.

It was was my first time making this recipe and we had no problem getting to the bottom of the punch bowl. It was delicious. Definitely going into the party idea stash from here on out.  It's most likely gonna show up again on New Year's Eve.

I got the recipe here:  Pomegranate-Champagne Punch

Here's the rest of our night, in photos:

For snacks, I made Brie En Croute with almonds and raspberry jam.

Dates stuffed with Asiago and Candied Walnuts.
Baked, then drizzled with a thick, aged balsamic.

Persimmons wrapped in Copa.

For treats I had Oreo Peppermint Bark, Salted Caramel Butter Bars, and peppermint cookies.

The  Mom Squad mascot.

Thankfully, no pictures showed up of the hair and ears being donned.

'Twas a fun night.

The baby of the group turned 33 on Thursday.
We all live within blocks of each other.
One, directly across the street from me.
At 8:00 pm, one mom drove over and picked the two of us up.
In our jammies, we headed over to the birthday girl's house with two bottles of champagne, chocolate, a tiara, wings, and a boa.
When no one answered the door, driver mom stood out on the lawn and hollered birthday girl's name in her best Stallone voice.
Think, "Adrienne"
All we needed was a boombox over her head.
Best movie, btw.
She answered the door in her bathrobe and we ended up sitting at the dining room table, drinking champagne and being silly, until 11:00.
So fun.
It's a good crew to have.

  2. What fun! And what beautiful food and drink. I smile when I see pictures of your new kitchen--how beautiful, it must make you very happy :) We are pretty mellow here--have a gig to get ready for on New Year's Eve and a friend coming over on Saturday, so I have a bit of time to continue work on that upstairs library. I kind of figure getting it done would be the best Christmas gift I could give us, and it's starting to get to the point where I actually get to decorate, which is the fun part!

  4. Lots of good food but I don't see any sausage. If you are looking for some sausage to add to your next party, let me know.
