The First Week Of October In The Garden

I lied to you the other day when I told you the name of my pink dahlia.  It's Curly Q, not Suzie Q.  Either way, I said I'd get some pictures of it in full bloom.  I had to pick the poor thing up out of the dirt from the rain, but here it is in all its glory.

Pretty cool, eh?

While I was out with my camera, I snapped a couple pics of the grass down in my parking strip.
It's so pretty right now.

And last, I had to take a couple shots of the back fence.
The neighbor has a plant with amazing red leaves right now.
I may have swiped a few to bring inside.

Isn't it so pretty?
Now that I'm looking at these pictures again, the birch trees in the background look like watercolors.
Off to accomplish something productive...

Please check out my sidebar for the parties I link up to.

  2. What a fun dahlia! I would have thought with all the rain that my dahlia would be finished right now but it is still blooming. I hope we have a really really late freeze. I also have been noticing a lot of cool grass in other gardens lately. Yours is quite striking!

  3. Pretty dahlia. I planted a couple this year, and I always debate on whether or not to dig them up in the fall and bring them in. I usually do, but then they often die over the winter inside for me. I'm thinking about just leaving them out to fend for themselves this year and see how they do. My neighbors do, and theirs seem to come through okay, so I may test it out.
