New Recipe Night: Fail
There is nothing worse than taking a bunch of pictures of yummy looking food for a post and then taking that first bite, only to realize it sucks. Like bad. In the 10 years that I've known him, not once has The Dad ever not eaten what was put in front of him. Never. He's never made a negative comment about something I've made. Until now. Tonight, he told me the recipe should go in the garbage. The kids wouldn't eat more than the first bite. I, however, ate all of mine. I thought it was edible. Not good, but edible. And since I wasted extremely precious time today taking the pictures, I'm posting them anyway. 'Cause that's how I roll. Pretend it tasted good, 'kay?

Haha I can totally relate to this! I have made a few things actually that I was SO excited about and then I took a bite and no way would I post the recipe.. If it makes you feel any better the pasta does actually look good! :)
ReplyDeletenot going to kid you... that looks fantastic! I think the only cure for a bad dinner is a whole bottle of good wine chaser!
ReplyDeleteIt looks yummy...you have that going for ya! What went wrong?! Well, glad to hear I'm not the only one anyhow. Hubs did the same thing with my typo'd soup recipe the other night...wouldn't eat any more than one bite and I didn't dare feed it to the kids! :)
ReplyDeleteAnyhow I think you're doing amazing for even thinking about blogging about anything with a newborn!!
Haha, you had me laughing at this one. Now you know what happens when I try to cook. Except mine doesn't even look good. Yours, of course, is beautiful, magazine perfect. Who cares what it tastes like. I'll say it again, you've got killer food photography skills!
ReplyDeleteOh that totally sucks. We have those on occasion too and this one looked so promising. I usually decide to make whatever it is into dog food and have some scrambled eggs for dinner instead. :)
