Tag, I'm It

Anyone who reads blogs has seen the games of tag going around.  Well, I've officially been tagged.  Terri at These Peas Taste Funny got me.  I just so happen to love reading other blog's posts like these, because you get to learn more about the person behind the blog, so I'm happy to participate.

First of all, here are the rules:

RULES
**You must post the rules.
** Answer the 11 questions that the tagger posted for you & then create 11 questions to ask the people you've tagged.
** Tag 11 people and link them in your post.
**Let them know you have tagged them.

Now, here are Terri's questions for me:

 1.  How did you decide to start blogging?

A year and a half ago, I had no idea what a blog was.  My aunt has neighbors who were fixing up an old farmhouse and she sent me the link to their blog, knowing I'd love to see progress pictures.  If you've yet to discover it, it's called A Country Farmhouse.  The photos will make you drool.  That was the first blog I ever read.
Fast forward a few months later and a girlfriend of mine mentioned that I should start one.  I had no clue how to do that or WHY.  After getting more into reading them, and her prodding me, I thought maybe I'd give it a go.  It took me weeks to come up with a name that wasn't already taken.  Rindy Mae is a play on my real name, Mindy Rae.  It was my nickname growing up.
When I did my first post, I had no idea what I would write about and never once thought anyone would even read it.   It was an outlet for myself, more than anything.  Now, almost a year later, I'm still rambling away about food, plants, kids, and the most recent house project, every chance I get.

2.  What would be your dream job?

The only job that I've thought about repeatedly for as long as I can remember is shrink.  I've always thought I would love being a therapist, probably to kids and teens.  I talked to a college counselor about it at one point a zillion years ago, but that was as far as it went.
I also think that being a food critic would be the BEST JOB EVER.  I can't think of a single thing that would suck about it.  Except maybe not wanting to hurt someone's feelings if their food was terrible.

3.  What is your favourite (did I mention Terri's Canadian?) movie or book?

Just ONE?!  Boy, I love the movie White Christmas with Bing Crosby.  I also love Serendipity.  And Tombstone.  And A Bronx Tale.  And The Ref.  Okay, I'll quit.
As for books, I loved the Dan Brown books.  Angels and Demons was my favorite of those.  The Kite Runner was really good.  I loved The Shack - although my family members thought it sucked.  Jitterbug Perfume was really good too.

 4.  Favourite food?

Hahahahaha.
If you've read my blog for more than five minutes, you know there's no way in hell I could pick a favorite.  BUT, one of my favorite meals is tapas-style.  All different picky things.  A little bit of everything makes me happy.  As long as there's cheese involved.

5.  If you had an entire afternoon free, who would you want to spend it with and doing what?

That's a tough one, 'cause I don't get out much.  There are a lot of things I could do with a free day.
The first thing that came to mind was having a really good meal and a bottle of wine with The Dad in an outdoor setting on a really warm day.

6.  What is the most significant goal you have achieved to date?

Definitely marrying the right guy and making three amazing babies.

7. What is your dream vacation?

One of those cabanas in the middle of the ocean, at the end of a long dock.
Hot sun, a personal masseuse, fun cocktails, someone preparing all my meals, and nothin' but loungin'.

8.  When you go to weddings, do you dance or sit like a bump?

Sit like a bump.
Anyone who knows me in real life will tell you that there isn't enough alcohol in the joint to get me to dance in public.
EVER.
Wait, that's a lie.  I danced with The Dad at our wedding.

9.  If you were going to volunteer for an organization, what would it be?

Something to do with kids.  Like a Big Sister program, or similar.
I'd say an animal shelter, but my house isn't big enough for all the strays I'd be bringin' home.
Of course, one could say the same thing about all the stray kids.

10.  Favourite celebrity or sports star?

To look at?
George Clooney, Matthew McConaughey, and Ashton Kutcher in the movie The Guardian.
Man oh man, I need to see that again.

11.  What is your best go-to recipe when you have company coming?

That's another tough one.  I've made salmon on the grill the same way I did this trout quite a few times - just 'cause it's so pretty to look at.

I do pasta a lot 'cause everyone likes pasta.  I used to make Eggplant Parmesan all the time because it was requested, but I haven't made it in forever.  I make all kinds of things for company I guess.
My sister and her family are about the only company we have anymore, so I'll feed them anything.  They're good guinea pigs.  :o)

So there ya go.
Eleven random facts that you probably could have gone your whole life without knowing, right?
Now I'm supposed to tag 11 people and give them 11 new questions.
Okay, let's see.....

Lindsay @ Delighted Momma
Jess @ Mediocre Mommy
 Makaila @ Distinctly M
Shasta @ In The Old Road
Grace @ Gardening With Grace
 Sue @ Beach Bungalow
Lexa @ Four Hills Of Squash
  Shelley @ Crazy Wonderful
Kristin @ My Uncommon Life Of Suburbia
Amy @ Love On High Heat
Cindy @ Old Time Pickers

Tag, you're it.

Here are your questions:
  1. If you could only listen to one CD for the rest of your life, what would it be?
  2.  If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
  3. How many siblings do you have and where do you fall?
  4.  How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
  5. Beer or Wine?
  6. If you could have coffee with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?
  7. What's your favorite veggie and how do you prefer it?
  8. If you were on death row, what would your last meal be?
  9. Do you wish on stars - or anything else?
  10.  What crowd were you a part of in high school?
  11.  What are you wearing?
Wow, that was really hard.  It took me three days to come up with those!
Yes, I know, after three days you'd think I could have come up with something better, but that's what you get.
If you weren't tagged, (or were and don't want to do an entire post),  feel free to leave your answers in a comment!

  2. Awesome. I'm so glad you played along. I have to ask though, where's Laney's ice cream? ;) Did you feel that you needed to mention I was Canadian so people wouldn't think I was too dumb to spell favourite right? If yes, then thanks for looking out for me. So glad you decided to travel down the bloggy path.

    3. Siblings - I have one sister 4.5 years younger than me.
    4. Woodchuck - Hahaha! Umm... Let's go with 1 tree :D
    5. Beer or wine - Beer, as long as it's a good beer like Sam Adams or a wheat beer ( I'm picky)
    6. Coffee - I'd have coffee with my grandmother who passed a few years ago.
    7. Fav veggie - steamed broccoli
    8. Last meal - this is a hard one! I'd probably go with a rich and creamy chicken carbonara
    9. Wish on stars - Every time!
    10. Group in H.S. - Band geek and cheerleader
    11. Wearing - Ridiculously old and nasty sorority t-shirt and sweats with coffee stains. That's how I roll :D

  5. Hi Mindy girl. I got your email so decided I'd come visit. I'm so behind on blog reading. I've been sort of brain dead about a post for my writing blog so I'll answer the questions there. This was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the photos you posted with your answers.
