This Week In The Garden

We're supposed to get two dry days this weekend.  I'm so excited I could pee my pants.  I've done a few things here and there in the yard with the short dry spells, but today I'm bustin' out the pressure washer to get our patio and deck cleaned off.  Normally, I scrub the deck on my hands and knees, but in the state that it's in, that sounds like torture.  It badly needs to be resealed, so we'll see how it goes.

Tomorrow is Fuchsia Saturday at our local grocery store.  They sell seed geranium and fuchsia starts, plus other specialty annuals in 2-inch pots, for super cheap.  But more exciting than that is, if you bring your pots in, they'll fill them with dirt for free.  Yahoo!  So I've got some lightweight ones to get cleaned up and loaded into the car.  Show starts at 7am.

On a funny note, once the kids were in bed last night, I drug my pumping paraphernalia into the bedroom and about two minutes into it, The Dad comes in and asks why in the world I'm pumping.  'Cause I wanna go to Fuchsia Saturday!  Duh.  He proceeded to laugh at me.  And shake his head.  C'mon people, I have priorities.

Okay, enough with the rambling.  How's about some flower pics?

  5. Love, love, love the plants along your fence. The left side of our fence is along the street and I've been dying to dress it up. There is nothing there now. It's all shade though. So I have to come up with a shady garden plan. Any ideas?

  6. Wow-that flowering cherry is just gorgeous! I love epimedium, but don't really have enough shade in which to grow them successfully.

  8. I want to hear about Fuchsia Saturday - I'm a huge fan and have a couple dozen in pots which I seem to have over-wintered pretty well this year.
