Ladybug Crostini

The party pictures are coming, I promise.  In the meantime, I decided I'd throw another one of the apps that I made for it out there.  I had pinned a few different ladybug themed appetizers on Pinterest and used those photos for inspiration.  You can see them here.

Mine ended up looking like this:

I started out with two baguettes that I had the bakery lady slice for me.
If you've ever tried to slice a fresh baguette, you know the smushed up mess you end up with.
They have a machine that does it in minutes.

I used Rondele Garlic and Herb cheese spread on the bread.

I smeared some homemade pesto on top of that for half of them.

For the other half, I used a basil leaf.

On the pesto ones, I put a half of a cherry tomato and a quarter of a black olive.

My plan was to draw spots on them with an edible marker, but it wouldn't work on the tomato.
I thought about putting little pieces of olive in slits, but after doing one, I decided it was waaaaay more work than I wanted to do a couple hours before the party.
So I left them as is.

Here they are all arranged on the platter:

These were super tasty and were gobbled up with the quickness, so you could do them for a non-ladybug party as well.
Either dice the tomato and olive and make it more of a bruchetta, or skip the olive altogether and just use a cherry tomato half.
Good stuff.
