I folded my fabric so that I could get four triangles cut at once.
I literally eyeballed it.
I was too lazy to make a pattern or trace anything, so I just cut.
I probably should have ironed the triangles before I started gluing, but again, lazy.
I figured it was temporary party deco, and I wasn't too worried about it.
If need be, it can be ironed the morning of the party.
So I layed out my first triangle upside down and ran the cording along the top.
I put a bead of glue the entire length of the top edge and folded it over on top of the cording.
See that little flap that hangs over the edge?
Cut it off.
Here's the front.
Aaand, it obviously isn't hung up yet, but here's a sneak peek:
Just in case someone out there wants to know, I got the fabric at Joann's.
Here are the names:
Small Dots On Lipstick, Flowing Floral Black, Hoff Going Dotty Daisies White, and the polka dot one in the first pictures is Black Flocked Dot.
Oooh, I love the fabric you used. I'm a fabric hoarder so I may be making one of those too. What a great way to display my favorite fabrics. Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteYou should hang that in your daughter's room after the party. It will be a great memory for her (and a reminder of how hard her mother worked). Good luck with the party on Sunday.
Very industrious of you,...and I love a good 'eyeball it' pattern. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it looked wonderful - I made a fabric bunting because it was the easiest way to bring color to a plain room I was having a baby shower in
