Mixed Berry Pancakes & A Silly Kid Breakfast

Sooo, remember how I missed our Silly Kid Lunch last Friday and because of that I promised The Kid two this week?  Yeah well, I decided to do a breakfast instead.

Pancakes are super easy to turn into any shape you want if you have a bottle with a nozzle on it.  I use an old BBQ sauce bottle that I cut the tip off of a bit to get a wider opening. The only caveat (that word is ALWAYS a crossword clue and I'm pretty excited to use it in real life for the first time) is, you can't put big chunks of fruit in the batter.  They won't fit through the hole.

So I dug out a jar of mixed berry sauce I had in the freezer leftover from this recipe.  I nuked it just long enough to get a few good sized spoonfuls out and then I put it in the blender with some milk.  I used that as part of my liquid when mixing up the batter.  I stirred in some ground cinnamon and nutmeg as well.

Um, SO friggin' good.  I've still got a half a jar left and I'm makin' them again this weekend for all of us.

For the kids, I just made small circles and did a simple flower.  Bananas and grapes around the rim.  Yogurt with sprinkles in the middle.  They didn't even need syrup.

Here's breakfast on the plate:
