Ahem. Dang you cute little grocery store gourds!!! I was perfectly happy not accepting the fact that fall is here. Until I saw the bag of mini pumpkins. They're so cute! So fine, I brought some home. My plan was to just put them in a bowl. Well, you should know me better than that by now. Somehow it turned into a full on mantel rearrangement. I didn't name myself The Rearranger for no reason.
In my defense, I didn't do a complete overhaul. I just switched out a few things. The Halloween/Fall deco is NOT coming out of the attic until October 1st, and that's final.
Here's the mini makeover:
I took out all the green glass vases and only left the green bottles and insulators.
I added the wicker covered jug, the lidded jars, one with pine cones, one with beach glass, (and yes, one is still empty - I'm gonna pick up a bag of candy corn to fill it) and just a few fall colored items.
On the other side, I left the wicker balls in the large cloche and switched out the piece of coral in the smaller one for three small gourds.
And of course, the bowl of gourds that started it all....sitting on top of the ice chest that moved back to the kitchen in my last rearranging frenzy.
There were a few changes in the kitchen as well, but I'll save those for another post.
Before I go, here are the last hydrangea blooms from the garden.
I decided their fading color went with the fall theme.
I love your Fall decorating! The pumpkins look fabulous.
ReplyDeleteIt is Spring here but there are still pumpkins at the markets. Maybe I should be decorating for Fall and Spring at my place!
Best wishes,
Natasha.
Oh that hydrangea looks fabulous. If it makes you feel any better,...mine came earlier than yours, but were not nearly as spectacular. :)
ReplyDeleteLove how you used that tart pan with the glass cloche...I passed some up yesterday...I knew I should have got them...oh well!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Yeah, the baby pumpkins got me too. I like your wicker covered jug and the little bird. I'm doing pumpkins, pinecones, tree branches (from my backyard) and, of course, lots of little birdies:)
ReplyDeleteI'm struggling with the new season too. I love that your fall touches aren't screaming FALL(like mine are). Nicely done! I'm following you to see what you add next month!
ReplyDeleteLooks great - I see a Halloween costume with a cape in your future "The Reaaranger is here to save the day!"
ReplyDeleteIt's so annoying when gourds hollar at you like that! However, you have just a hint of fall and stayed true to yourself. Nicely done. I'm one of those.."no pumpkins until Oct." people too. I have added a bit of silk flowers and a fallish basket to my happy w/summer decor. All because my good friend kept after me to get the spring wreath off the front door. hahha. So while making that, I used the leftover flowers elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI too shall pop in to see your pumpkins arrive.
oh my gosh, WHERE did you get all those corks? i am clearly not drinking enough. i love how you still kept the blues on your mantle. it looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love how you kept it light & bright. So many Fall mantels are so dark. Great work from www.missiondecorate.com!
ReplyDeleteSimple, cute, adorable and I LOVE it!! Great job.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall y'all!
This is great! Creative and unique touches.
