This is not some fancy lunch by any means, but I did try to do something more than just PB&J.
The sammie is actually peanut butter and jelly, cut into a circle. The letters are cheddar cheese. The silly face is a Babybel cheese with candy eyes. To keep things from moving around, I wedged in some carrot sticks and green beans that I foraged for in the dark. Literally. The treat is graham crackers with buttercream frosting (which I always had in my lunches growing up). The compartment off to the side is watermelon balls and grapes on toothpicks.
Here's the kid's first ever school lunch:
And yes, he got a love note from his mommy in his lunch bag.
Wow - I am such a slacker, this is amazing. I sent my kids off with peanut butter sandwiches (regular old square), an apple, and some goldfish. I do include a lunch joke everyday in their lunch though so I feel a little better about myself. But not much.
