As you're scrolling through evidence of last year's festivities, I'm already back at the Rock Farm, for the Fourth Of July 2014 addition, where I am attempting to stay cool. I'm sure the beer in my hand is helping.
Here's last year's fun-filled weekend:
Oh, I should probably mention that every weekend of the 4th, there's a serious competition that happens.
Every man for himself.
There's horseshoes, ring tosses, crosswords, croquet, sack races, darts, etc.
Some people like to get mean and cheat in order to win.
And there's a lot of smack talk.
There was a massive water fight last year.
The kids thought that was fantastic, and used every opportunity they could find to blast adults with squirt guns.
I, (and a couple others) had an entire bucket dumped on my head by my BIL.
Good times, kids.
This is me getting the bucket of water - and the kids coming in for the kill.
The Dog bites at everyone's feet during the sack races.
Makes it nearly impossible to stay upright.
In the end, The Dad and my sister were fighting for the sack race champion title.
There may or may not have been some shoving and tripping.
The Girl yelling, get 'er, and my sister goin' WTF.
Pulling The Dad's shorts down, in one last attempt to win it.
My mom brought stuff for the kids to make t-shirts.
Every year, we say we're gonna do the group photo right when we all get there.
And every year, we end up taking it at the end of the weekend, when no one has showered for three days.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your 4th!
I loved everything about these photos friend! This is what it is all about! Being with family...having a rocking time...and the kids look like they are in heaven! The games you all play are fantastic! Glad you guys get away and a wonderful weekend to you all! Nicole xoxo
ReplyDeleteYes, I hope that you are all having as much fun in 2014 as you did in 2013. That's just how the 4th should be - kids, dogs, hot weather, water, and lots of food! Love those patriotic bandannas too!
ReplyDeleteThat is some serious fun alright! I'm printing this just so that I can remember all of the games that can be played for family get-togethers. My favorite shots of the kids in the little blow-up rubber pool .... brings back SO MANY childhood memories!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
