A Year In & A Look Back: Dessert

The next time you're invited to someone's house for dinner and they ask you to bring dessert, bring one of these.   I guarantee you'll get free meals more often.

A Year In & A Look Back: Dinners

Okay, so this was the hardest category to narrow down.  I've posted a lot of meals on this ol' blog and so many of them were SO good.  I don't want to hurt any of their feelings by leaving them out.  :o)  So here are some of my favorite dinners from the past year.

A Year In & A Look Back: Vegetarian

I married a meat and potatoes guy.  I like my meat too, but if it was just my mouth that I was feeding, I probably would eat a lot less of it.  I would say on average, we do one to two meatless meals a week.  These next recipes are so good and a couple of them are my all-time faves that make it into rotation often.

Whether you're a vegetarian or just trying to cut back on the amount of meat you eat, all of these are absolutely delicious.  Even The Dad doesn't miss the meat when we have any of these for dinner.

A Year In & A Look Back: Side Dishes

I'm a side dish girl.  I'm way more likely to leave a hunk of meat on my plate if I'm getting full, rather than skip out on more of the sides.  Most of these were new to me when I made them, but will definitely reappear time and time again.

A Year In & A Look Back: Lunch

The frequency of me actually sitting down and eating a real lunch on a weekday is low.  Usually I'm grabbing a handful of crackers and an apple.  Or eating what's left on The Girl's plate, which may consist of the edges of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or the tail end of some sort of wrap.

Now that the weather is starting to get a bit warmer, I'm entering into my smoothie season, so I do drink one of those every day, but real lunches are few and far between.

That being said, when I do actually make myself something, it's super quick, super easy, and usually can be eaten with one hand.

Here are a few examples from the past year:

A Year In & A Look Back: Appetizers

Appetizers are definitely my favorite food group.  I love picky foods and will use any excuse to make them.  I have a zillion favorites, but I'll restrain myself and keep the list at five.

All of these are amazingly delicious and if you haven't tried them yet, you should do so ASAP.

A Year In & A Look Back: Breakfast

It's hard for me to believe I've been at this ol' blog for a year now.  I published my first post on March 3rd of 2011.  Whoda thunk I'd have over 400 posts under my belt.  Certainly not me.

I thought to commemorate the occasion, I'd put together some posts with a few of my faves.  Food is a big part of my life, so it makes sense that it would show up in a large majority of my posts.

I was originally going to do one post with my top 10 favorite recipes, but there were just too many for me to narrow it down.  So I'll do it by meal instead.

Let's start with breakfast, shall we?
