My parents watched the kids so we could go out to eat. We headed to a restaurant that was one of my faves, pre-kids. We hadn't been in a looong time.
We snagged one of only two outside tables.
This is the look I get when I stick a camera in his face.
We brought along a bottle of wine from our stash and it was yummm-o.
We started out with the cheese plate, duh, and it came with yummy crostini.
The board had three different cheeses, roasted garlic, pickles, green olives, candied walnuts and their amazing signature roasted butternut squash butter.
For the next round, we shared a beet salad that was delicious.
For my entree, I had the house-made ravioli and The Dad had the shredded pork shoulder with root veggies and polenta.
Funny enough, it was the anniversary of the owner's in-laws, as well.
For dessert, we shared a flourless chocolate cake.
As full as I was, I could have eaten 12 of them.
It was sooo good.
The only bad part of the meal was starting out with TERRIBLE service.
I've been a waitress, so I've been there, but this guy was a total and complete ass from the beginning.
Luckily for us, he completely vanished mid-meal, and we got a guy who was awesome.
From there, we headed back to our 'hood for a couple cocktails at The Vintage.
Mmmmm, gin.
We ended up meeting a guy who we chatted with for the rest of the night.
He had a Polaroid camera, and the photo he took and gave to us, turned out to be the best part of our night.
He also took a few shots of us with my camera.
The lighting was bad, so they came out blurry, but I like them anyway.
Of course, the only one that isn't totally blurry is the one I'm rockin' six chins in.
Story of my, I-suck-at-pictures, life.
We sat next to the open windows and it was perfect evening weather.

And this is the Polaroid he took of us.
