The Kid

The Kid, our first born, turned nine on Sunday.  I'm still trying to figure that out.

I have lots of birthday party photos, but it may take me a minute to get through all of them.
I'm movin' sorta slow this week and am a wee bit distracted.

I haven't really mentioned it to anyone, not wanting to freak out or worry family unnecessarily, but I've been keeping my eye on something going on with him lately.  It has drastically increased over the last few days, so I brought it up at my doctor's appointment yesterday. It concluded in her making an educated guess, and me making an appointment for him this morning, as a first step to getting answers.
And now that family is reading this, hopefully I'll have concrete info to share later today, opposed to just speculation and a Google diagnosis.

In the meantime, I'm going to post photos, that I'm sure I've posted here before, out of selfishness for myself.
'Cause who doesn't like to look back at their kid's baby pictures?

I'll start with my favorites of him, fresh outta the hatch.
Mellow and sweet, just like he is nine years later.

Discovering grass.

Sweet, sweet, sweet.

On the counter in the kitchen with Mom, where he spent most of his first two years.

And in the garden, where he was raised, and still loves to this day.

I love that kid so dang much.
The unknown is scary as hell, gives me the knot in my stomach that only comes with being a parent, and kinda makes me want to throw up a little bit.
But with our appointment comes information and information is a good thing.
Go hug your kids.
