Life Snippets #21

I'm back with the rest of my random photos from July.  I'll start with some that The Girl took.  She's allowed to use my old point and shoot whenever she wants, but on this occasion, I let her use my big girl camera.  She took hundreds.  Like mother, like daughter.  It was fun to have a look around the garden through her eyes.

One night that The Dad was gone for his Mancation, the kids were asleep, I was in bed reading on my Kindle, when the phone rang.
I knew it was him, so I jumped up to get it and the charging cord ripped my wine glass off the side table and it broke on the rug.
Nothin' like cleaning up broken glass and red wine at 10 'O Clock at night.
Grrrrrr.

We had dinner on the outdoor dining table the first night after building it.
Of course, I felt the need to document it.
Nothin' fancy, we had burgers.

Caught with a camera in his face.

He all of a sudden looks so much older to me.
Not sure what it is.

As does she.
I constantly have to remind myself that she's only seven.

Mocking his sister.

He's really cute right now, too.  :)
I know they go through awkward stages, but he's having a good one.

She is, too.
I sometimes stare at her and think, she's really pretty.

Then there's the little one.
Just gonna say, not a great stage right now.
Behavior-wise.
The Terrible Twos is a myth.
Three SUCKS.
But, this, too, shall pass.

I picked my one and only banana pepper to put on our Enchilada Stuffed Pattypan Squash dinner.

And last, the overwintered onion harvest that I was pretty darned excited about.

Now maybe one of these days, I'll pick up the camera and take some current pictures.
Maybe.

  1. I like the percentage of kid pics vs. garden pics. You got it right ;-)

  2. You are raising a beautiful little photographer there - she does take after her Mom :) And your son looks SO MUCH like you! I am pretty sure there are rules against drinking and reading in bed, just sayin" :)

  3. I've been thinking it is time for my seven to have her own camera. Photography is so much fun and I think she would love it. And yes your daughter is pretty! If it makes you feel any better, it seems as thought my seven and six are still in the terrible twos. I am not sure what is going on but
I am ready to send the kids back to school.

  4. I too think the terrible twos are a myth. All 3 of my kids were sweet and still really good at the age 2. But then they turn 3 and start tossing around some attitude. Lol

  6. Your kids are really pretty/handsome because they've got good looking parents. And a pretty grandma too. .... I love all the photos. So much to see in your garden.
