Grilled Tri-Tip With Blue Cheese Sauce

I made this dinner a week or so ago.  As for this week, I have no interest in cooking.  As far as the kitchen remodel goes, I'm officially over it.  I just want it to be done already.  And it won't hurt my feelings to be eating off of real plates again.  I should be getting paid for all the Pizza Hut endorsing I'm doing while rockin' all our dinners on their plates.

But back to the meat and blue cheese.  We don't eat a ton of red meat anymore.  First of all, it's expensive. Second, I don't think it's gonna hurt us The Dad to not eat steak four nights a week. Okay, we never did that, but when I decided to make this for dinner, I was thinking it had been a really long time since we had thrown a steak on the grill.  This isn't steak, technically, but you could do the same thing with a ribeye or some sirloin.  Flank steak would be delicious, too.

I generally season up our steaks with McCormick's Steak Seasoning and then add some extra garlic powder, but since this was a trip-tip, I thought it would be best to marinate it.  I used this super easy, four-ingredient marinade.  The flavor was really good.

For the sauce, I had a chunk of gorgonzola in the fridge, so I headed to my favorite recipe hoarding spot, (yes, that would be Pinterest), and found this one that I already had the ingredients for.  Super fast, super easy, and super delicious.

Now that you have the links, all that's left is to show you what it looks like at my house.  We had mashed potatoes and broccoli to go with.

Here's dinner on my plate:

A wee bit indulgent, but it was worth every bite.

  3. Mmmm, Mindy this looks so delicious! And gorgonzola is the best cheese on the planet. I know it's just a type of "blue cheese" but oh, it's sooo much more than just blue cheese. ;o)

  4. My hubby is a huge fan of blue cheese especially on a char-broiled steak when we go out. I will have to surprise him the next time we grill at home.

  5. I was waiting for the "I'm over it" post with the kitchen remodel. They absolutely suck in so many ways. I remember washing out dishes in the bathroom sink thinking about ordering out every single time. I eventually broke down and refused to make anything besides sandwiches. I think you are amazing to make all of these meals with no kitchen.
