2014 Dining Room & Kitchen Christmas Tour

Figured I'd sneak in here on a Friday to do another room post. Again, I'll try to keep the words to a minimum.

Our dining room is tiny, but it's the only one we've got, so we make due.  I put the leaf in the table about a year ago, so that all five of us could sit together at dinner time, rather than pulling a chair up for Baby every night like we were doing when it was square.  It makes the space tighter, but it's where we eat all our meals, so it is what it is.

I did swap out the wine cabinet with the dresser because it's more shallow and takes up less space.
The wine cabinet is living next to the couch now.
Easy access, right?

I left the DIY Globe Lights up where they were, and you saw the 5-Minute Framed Chalkboard already in a separate post.

The wall cubbies got a little sprinkling of Christmas, as well as the shelf over the windows.

I can never do anything too exciting on the dining table, since, like I said, we eat all our meals there.
I do like having a tablecloth on it because, A. I'm obsessed with tablecloths, and B. The top is pretty torn up, but the kids spill crap every time they sit down.  So it needs to be changed out daily, which drives me nuts.

I've had just the Santa runner for about a week and they've managed to keep that clean.

In the kitchen, I jumped on the hot chocolate "station" bandwagon, and put the fixin's where I normally just have coffee stuff.
The kids think it's great.

Please ignore the fact that we STILL don't have a backsplash, cover plates, or a finished ceiling.
It's on my wish list to Santa.

A pulled back view.

Did you spy Mr. and Mrs. Gingerbread?  :)

The advent calendar was mine as a kid.
I think next year, I'll use it to put the Playmobil advent pieces in.

The shelves next to the back door got some deco.

And the counters are even more jam-packed than usual.

My blue glass shelves even got some glitz this year.

I did something SUPER fun with the garland around the window over the sink, but it wasn't done when I took these pictures, so I'll have to save it for another post.
It's my new favorite thing.
Have a fantastic Friday.
I'm hosting Girl's Night tonight.
Wahoo!
