Sun Tea

Nothin' quite says summer like Sun Tea.  It makes me happy.  Five minutes of work for happiness ain't too shabby.

Here's how I do it:

Get a pitcher.  For the size I used, I put in 9 tea bags.  I had some regular 'ol Lipton's, but you can use whatever you like.

I sliced up some limes and threw them in with some fresh mint.  Hung the tea bags over the side and put the lid on.

Stuck the pitcher out on the deck in the sun and waited.

By dinner time, I had me a glass of yummy iced tea.

I like mine straight up, but you can certainly put sugar in yours, if that's what you prefer.

  1. I love homemade iced tea but I don't think I've ever done your sun version. I'll have to change that, lol. In Canada you buy iced tea already sweetened so I got a major shock the first time I ordered it in the States. Pucker!

  2. I haven't made sun tea in years. My Mom made it all summer long when I was growing up, but the first summer my husband and I were married and I put the tea out to steep all day he was like "What are you doing??"
p.s. being from the south, I like LOTS of sugar!!
