BLT's with Basil Mayo

The Dad's boss gave him a ton of oysters from the Hood Canal yesterday, so we invited my sister and her family to come help consume them.  (She and I won't come near them, so The Dads and The Kids had a hay day.) 


I mentioned earlier that the Asiago-Peppercorn Bread I made today would show up at dinner.  My original plan was to make sammies with sliced peaches and goat cheese.  Unfortunately, my peaches had seen their better day and my ghetto Safeway didn't have goat cheese.  Boooo.  So I switched it up and went with BLT's.  Which were delicious.  It's all about the basil mayo.  Which is good on pretty much anything, by the way.  It'll take a regular 'ol burger up at least a notch or two.

Here's how I make it:

Put some mayonnaise or Miracle Whip (whichever team you're on) into a food processor or blender.  

Add as much basil as you like.


Process until blended.


The rest of the sammie is pretty self explanatory.

  1. YUMMY!!! I am in LOVE with fresh basil....never thought of combining the mayo & basil in blender! I will be trying this very soon!
