DIY Gifts of Christmas' Past

Some of you are new around these parts, so I figured I'd put together a post of some of the homemade gifts I've done in the past.

Links to the original posts with tutorials and/or recipes are in the titles.

You'll almost always see at least one of these make an appearance anytime I do a post involving food at my sister's house.
If you click the link, you can see all the other goodies I stuck in the box with the boards.

This recipe has been around for as long as I can remember.
My mom always made it when we were kids, and it remains one of my favorites.
It's delicious.
Whip up a batch in some mini dollar store tins and it becomes the perfect gift for teachers, neighbors, and friends.

I originally saw the idea for this on Etsy.
I made a version for my niece, nephew, and even one for The Dad.
His hangs on the massive gallery wall in our living room.

Is there a better gift for that person on your list who's impossible to buy for?
If beer isn't their jam, use a 6-pack of root beer or their favorite soda.
Or dress up a bottle of wine or booze.
They're almost too cute to drink.
Almost.

If your garage looks like mine, you can whip this one out today.

This stuff is all kinds of good.
And way easier than it should be.

Yes, I was a sewing fool last year, too.
The answer is no, there is nothing cuter than Hello Kitty.

Not into cats?
I made a plain one, too.

My BIL asked for a ukulele.
This is what he got from my house.

This is my go-to gift.
Yummy flavored vodka for mixed drinks is super fun and super easy to brew up.
Set it and forget it.
I'm thinkin' about makin' a candy cane version this year.
Mmmmm.

Felt Ornaments
I make ornaments every year and these were from two years ago.

These are the ones I made last year.
See, my wine habit is for the greater good of others.

My mom has been making ornaments for my sister and I since we were kids.
Mine are now in my possession, and this post documents some of them, plus the ones she's made for our kids over the last seven years.

This is still one of my favorite projects ever.

These were a birthday gift for my nephew and I was ecstatic to have come up with a DIY gift for a little boy.

And there ya have it.
A few more ideas for those of you DIYing Christmas gifts this year.

Please see my sidebar for the parties I link up to.

  3. These are great, Mindy. At this time of year, I'm always on the lookout for quick and easy little hostess gifts, and so many of these would work great for that.
